SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charlotte Myrtie Deneen of Marengo, who passed away on August 23, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte Deneen was born in Harvard to Emil H. and Myrtie Mae (Wright) Reese on February 7, 1927; she married William F. Deneen in Marengo on May 27, 1950; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte Deneen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard, the Harvard Moose Lodge, the Moose Golden Agers, the Jaycettes, and the VFW Auxiliary; she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte Deneen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; her brothers, Emil, Clarence, and Charles (Charlotte's twin); and her sisters, Orillia Busch, Rose Schmidt, and Martha Stoxen; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte Deneen is survived by her children, Michael (Carol) Deneen and Luann (James) Kanaly; her grandchildren, Sarah (John W.) Isaacson, David Ley, John (Michelle) Kanaly, Kathy (Randy) Armknecht, Trenton (Deann) Bruha, Philip (Heather) Bruha, and Aaron (Alma) Bruha; her great-grandchildren, John R. Isaacson, Scerean Ley, Tyler Kanaly, Aubrey and Leah Armknecht, Alyssa, Christopher, Blake, Cooper, Gavin, Cassandra, and Andrew Bruha, and Lynzie Olivas; her sister-in-law, Marion Reese; her brother-in-law, Robert Stoxen; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charlotte Myrtie Deneen, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charlotte Deneen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
