SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Betty J. Kerpan, who passed away on January 13, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Betty Kerpan was born in Almeria, Nebraska on May 24, 1923; she was a longtime resident of Waukegan, where she married Jack Kerpan; and

WHEREAS, Betty Kerpan had many hobbies including quilting, baking, cooking, gardening, and reading; she truly enjoyed keeping healthy with her early morning exercise routine; she had a very strong faith and dearly loved her church and church friends; and

WHEREAS, Betty Kerpan was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and her son, Larry Kerpan; and

WHEREAS, Betty Kerpan is survived by her children, Sharon (David) Van Dis, Gary Kerpan, David Kerpan, Debbie (Raymond Rodgers) Guilfoil, and Kevin (Barbara) Kerpan; her stepson, Jack Jr. (Mipian) Kerpan; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Betty J. Kerpan, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Betty Kerpan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
