| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James Lewis Wildt of Erie, who passed | 4 | | away on June 16, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Wildt was born in Virginia, Illinois to | 6 | | Leslie and Gladys (Paschal) Wildt on July 3, 1925; he served as | 7 | | an infantryman in the U.S. Army during World War II and was | 8 | | awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star; he married Louise | 9 | | Ring in Chandlerville on July 12, 1947; he graduated from the | 10 | | University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in agriculture; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, James Wildt farmed for a few years and then began | 13 | | working for Farm Services (FS) which brought his family to | 14 | | Erie; he retired from FS after several years as a grain and | 15 | | feed manager; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, James Wildt was a member of the Erie United | 17 | | Methodist Church, Denton-Schreiner American Legion Post 582, | 18 | | and the Erie Rotary Club; he was a volunteer for the Erie Food | 19 | | Pantry and was a former member of the Erie Lions Club; during | 20 | | his spare time, he loved woodworking and reading; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, James Wildt was preceded in death by his parents; |

| 1 | | his son, William Robert Wildt; his brother, Robert Paschal | 2 | | Wildt; and his granddaughter, Amy Louise Talbert; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, James Wildt is survived by his wife, Louise; his | 4 | | children, James "Ed" (Brenda) Wildt, Leslie Ann (Merlyn) Hood, | 5 | | Janet Louise (Tom) Talbert, and Jeffrey Lewis (Sheila) Wildt; | 6 | | nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; therefore, be | 7 | | it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | James Lewis Wildt, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of James Wildt as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy.
