SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James Lewis Wildt of Erie, who passed
4away on June 16, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Wildt was born in Virginia, Illinois to
6Leslie and Gladys (Paschal) Wildt on July 3, 1925; he served as
7an infantryman in the U.S. Army during World War II and was
8awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star; he married Louise
9Ring in Chandlerville on July 12, 1947; he graduated from the
10University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in agriculture;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, James Wildt farmed for a few years and then began
13working for Farm Services (FS) which brought his family to
14Erie; he retired from FS after several years as a grain and
15feed manager; and
 
16    WHEREAS, James Wildt was a member of the Erie United
17Methodist Church, Denton-Schreiner American Legion Post 582,
18and the Erie Rotary Club; he was a volunteer for the Erie Food
19Pantry and was a former member of the Erie Lions Club; during
20his spare time, he loved woodworking and reading; and
 
21    WHEREAS, James Wildt was preceded in death by his parents;

1his son, William Robert Wildt; his brother, Robert Paschal
2Wildt; and his granddaughter, Amy Louise Talbert; and
 
3    WHEREAS, James Wildt is survived by his wife, Louise; his
4children, James "Ed" (Brenda) Wildt, Leslie Ann (Merlyn) Hood,
5Janet Louise (Tom) Talbert, and Jeffrey Lewis (Sheila) Wildt;
6nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; therefore, be
7it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10James Lewis Wildt, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of James Wildt as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
