SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Katharina Bertha Goldhammer of Lincoln, who passed away on January 16, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Katharina Goldhammer was born in Emden to Frederick and Wilhelmina (Englehorn) Wiggers on November 3, 1921; she married John H. Goldhammer in Lincoln on October 21, 1961; and

WHEREAS, Katharina Goldhammer worked for over 25 years at the Glenn Pontiac-Cadillac Dealership as the office manager and bookkeeper; and

WHEREAS, Katharina Goldhammer was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln, including the Ruth Circle; she was also a member of ESA Sorority; and

WHEREAS, Katharina Goldhammer was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; her siblings, Mildred, Eileen, Frederick, Marvin, Kendall, Thelma, and Milton; and her nephew, Kevin Wiggers; and

WHEREAS, Katharina Goldhammer is survived by her cousin, Harold (Vi) Wiggers; her sister-in-law, Darlene (Bob) Singley; her nieces and nephews, Elizabeth (Tom) Kavelman, Lori (Paul) Bottrell, Lois Pruitt, Roger Wainwright, Carrie Wiggers, Karen (John) Sandel, Amy (Nathan) Chen, Bobby (Jill) Awe, Alan (Sheryl) Wiggers, Kim (Paul) Otte, Kurt (Ronda) Wiggers, Pam (Rex) Mallekoote, Beckie (Mike) Geskey, Valerie (Jimmy) Wright, Roger (Julie) Matson, Randy (Ann) Matson, Rodney (Tammy) Matson, Mark (Patty) Wiggers, Debbie (Rick) Bilyeu, and Doug Wiggers; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Katharina Bertha Goldhammer, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Katharina Goldhammer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
