| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert G. Popp of Crystal Lake, who | 4 | | passed away on October 10, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Popp was born in Frohna, Missouri to Elmer | 6 | | M. and Flora (Oswald) Popp on March 18, 1936; he graduated from | 7 | | Concordia Teachers College; he later received a Master's Degree | 8 | | in Outdoor Education from Northern Illinois University; he | 9 | | married Lois Ward on June 4, 1960; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Popp spent 37 years as a teacher, | 11 | | principal, athletic director, and youth minister at Immanuel | 12 | | Lutheran School; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Robert Popp was happiest outdoors: traveling, | 14 | | camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, bird watching, and | 15 | | working in his yard; he enjoyed woodworking, billiards, and the | 16 | | Chicago Cubs; he loved his family, friends, and students; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Robert Popp was preceded in death by his parents; | 18 | | his brother, Clarence Popp; his sister, Betty Popp; and his | 19 | | brother-in-law, Nelson Preusser; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Robert Popp is survived by his wife of 57 years, |

| 1 | | Lois; his son, Timothy (Lainie) Popp; his beloved | 2 | | grandchildren, Nathan and Amanda Popp; his mother-in-law, | 3 | | Eleanor Ward; his sisters, Marian Preusser, Bernice (Norman) | 4 | | Loebs, and Carolyn Popp; his brother, Jim Popp; his | 5 | | sisters-in-law, Leanor Popp and Sandra Klein; and his many | 6 | | nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Robert G. Popp and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
