SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Winifred "Winnie" Stanczak of Lindenhurst, who passed away on February 10, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Winifred Stanczak was born in Woodstock on March 10, 1923 to Ellis and Martha Gott; she graduated from Waukegan High School in 1941 and married Leonard Stanczak on February 20, 1943; and

WHEREAS, Winifred Stanczak loved to crochet, knit and quilt, bake cookies, and can peaches from the tree in the backyard; she also loved the Lawrence Welk Show and was a volunteer at the hospital and at Jesse's Resale Shop; she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waukegan and was involved in the Women's Circle Society; and

WHEREAS, Winifred Stanczak was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Arlene and Isabell; and her daughter-in-law, Cheryl; and

WHEREAS, Winifred Stanczak is survived by her husband, Leonard; her 3 sons, David (Connie), Richard, and John; her grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Stanczak, Kyle Stanczak, Lauren Stanczak, Morgan (Ryan) Finneran, Teddi Stanczak, and Brad (Jennifer) Stanczak; and her great-grandchildren, Hazel and Cora Stanczak; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Winifred "Winnie" Stanczak, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Winifred Stanczak as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
