SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Loyd M. Longenbaugh of Urbana, who passed away on December 12, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Loyd Longenbaugh was born on March 10, 1923 in Fisher; his parents were Rev. Guy O. and Leta M. (nee Reeter) Longenbaugh; he married Marjorie A. Dillman on August 8, 1948 in Champaign; and

WHEREAS, Loyd Longenbaugh attended school in Clinton; he retired from the United States Air Force as a pilot after 30 years, having served through World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, After retiring from the Air Force, Loyd Longenbaugh became a supervisor for MTD, where he retired after 35 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Loyd Longenbaugh was a member of the Urbana American Legion, the Illinois State Grange, and the 1st Fighter Wing Association; and

WHEREAS, Loyd Longenbaugh was preceded in death by his wife; his 3 brothers; and his 3 sisters; and

WHEREAS, Loyd Longenbaugh is survived by his daughters, Sue C. (Carl) McLin, Lynn L. Dilley, and Ann (David) Rivier; his brother, Eugene Longenbaugh; his grandchildren, Justin McLin, Erin (Stephen) Andre, Meghan (Michael) Kneese, Molly (Amy Maddin) Dilley, Joshua Dilley, Neal (Lauryl) McKenry, and Ellyn (Travis) Lord; and his 6 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Loyd M. Longenbaugh; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Loyd Longenbaugh as an expression of our sympathy.
