HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Carl Schrimpf of Round Lake Beach; and

WHEREAS, Carl Schrimpf and his wife, Yvonne, moved to the small village of Round Lake Beach in 1953; from then, he worked tirelessly to grow the village, leading efforts to attract new businesses, which spurred development of other commercial and residential areas; and

WHEREAS, Carl Schrimpf served as Round Lake Beach Village President for 5 terms, totaling 20 years, ending in 1993; prior to becoming Village President, he served 2 terms as a Village Trustee and 4 years as Police Magistrate; he also served on the Avon Center School Board and as an Avon Township Trustee; he is remembered as a trailblazer, devoted to civic matters and to making positive changes; and

WHEREAS, Carl Schrimpf was a design engineer by trade; he worked for over 30 years for Hough-International Harvester; and

WHEREAS, Carl Schrimpf is survived by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne; his son, Marty; his 2 daughters, Karen and Koral; his 10 grandchildren; and his 14 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Carl Schrimpf, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carl Schrimpf as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
