SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jack R. Haskins of Hampton, who passed away on December 1, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Jack Haskins was born to Chester and Marjorie (Weckel) Haskins in Rock Island on July 27, 1935; he graduated from Port Byron High School and served honorably as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War; he married Grace B. Wise at the Hampton United Methodist Church on June 6, 1958, and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Jack Haskins worked for ALCOA for 42 years; and

WHEREAS, Jack Haskins loved fishing, mushroom hunting, golfing, bowling, and playing cards with his grandchildren; he was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan; and

WHEREAS, Jack Haskins was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his sister, Joan Tolliver; and his brother, Louis "Lee" Haskins; and

WHEREAS, Jack Haskins is survived by his children, Scott Haskins, Peggy McLaughlin, Jack Haskins Jr., Terry Haskins, Jerry Haskins, and Mike Haskins; his sister, Joyce Reiling; his sisters-in-law, Barb Haskins, Susie Bledsoe, and Rosemary Hassell; his eight grandchildren; his 19 great-grandchildren; and his one great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jack R. Haskins and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Haskins as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
