SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bruce C. Ingersoll of Peoria, who passed away on October 23, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll was born on the family farm in Green Valley to Vernice G. and Marjorie (Dosier) Ingersoll on November 16, 1929; he graduated from from Woodruff High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Air Force prior to attending Bradley University; he married Carol Weinberger at the First Baptist Church in Appleton, Wisconsin on April 10, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll worked multiple jobs before becoming a Peoria firefighter, serving from 1957 to 1979; he retired with the rank of captain; he also founded several companies including, Ingersoll Building Products and Built Rite Construction, and he successfully guided these businesses for over 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll was a Freemason at Illinois Lodge #263 A.F. & A.M for 50 years; he was a member of the Shriner's and the Peoria Consistory; he was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Peoria, where he was a deacon and served on the board of the Peoria Friendship House; he and Carol wintered at their home in Naples, Florida, where they enjoyed spending time with a large group of family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Peggy (Michael) Church, Karla (Dennis) Heinrich, Christopher (Katie) Ingersoll, and Susan (Douglas) Ahlemeyer; his grandchildren, Chad, Laura Brooke (Jimmy), Noelle, Nate (Sarah), Nick, Tricia (Greg), David, and Adam; and his great-grandchildren, Mia, Sam, Scarlett, Oliver, Elise, and Madeleine; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bruce C. Ingersoll and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bruce Ingersoll as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
