SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bruce C. Ingersoll of Peoria, who passed
4away on October 23, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll was born on the family farm in
6Green Valley to Vernice G. and Marjorie (Dosier) Ingersoll on
7November 16, 1929; he graduated from from Woodruff High School
8in 1948 and served in the U.S. Air Force prior to attending
9Bradley University; he married Carol Weinberger at the First
10Baptist Church in Appleton, Wisconsin on April 10, 1949; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll worked multiple jobs before
12becoming a Peoria firefighter, serving from 1957 to 1979; he
13retired with the rank of captain; he also founded several
14companies including, Ingersoll Building Products and Built
15Rite Construction, and he successfully guided these businesses
16for over 25 years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll was a Freemason at Illinois Lodge
18#263 A.F. & A.M for 50 years; he was a member of the Shriner's
19and the Peoria Consistory; he was a longtime member of the
20First Baptist Church of Peoria, where he was a deacon and
21served on the board of the Peoria Friendship House; he and
22Carol wintered at their home in Naples, Florida, where they

1enjoyed spending time with a large group of family and friends;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll is survived by his wife, Carol;
4his children, Peggy (Michael) Church, Karla (Dennis) Heinrich,
5Christopher (Katie) Ingersoll, and Susan (Douglas) Ahlemeyer;
6his grandchildren, Chad, Laura Brooke (Jimmy), Noelle, Nate
7(Sarah), Nick, Tricia (Greg), David, and Adam; and his
8great-grandchildren, Mia, Sam, Scarlett, Oliver, Elise, and
9Madeleine; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Bruce C. Ingersoll and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Bruce Ingersoll as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
