SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Juliette McCann of Gurnee, who passed away on February 4, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Juliette McCann was born in Waukegan on February 6, 1931 to John and Mary (nee Modic) Gabrovsek; she married Robert McCann in 1955 and they settled in Lake Villa; and

WHEREAS, Juliette McCann worked as a teacher's aide at Antioch High School in the 1960s and later as a nurse at Johnson Motors in Waukegan; in 1987 she retired and, along with her husband, moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona; they returned to Illinois in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Juliette McCann enjoyed dancing with her husband, singing with the Cordairs, and traveling; and

WHEREAS, Juliette McCann was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters, Sophie (Eugene) Hooker, Jean (Robert) Jenkins, Mary Ann (James) McNeely, and Tillie (Edward) Tolson; and

WHEREAS, Juliette McCann is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert; her children, Michael (Noreen) McCann and Patrick (Tammy) McCann; her grandchildren, Sean, Kevin, Michael, Ryan (Lauren), Kayla, and Logan; her 3 great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy (Ted) Ralston; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Juliette McCann, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Juliette McCann as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
