SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael C. Holmes of Wyoming, who passed away on February 14, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Michael Holmes was born on May 19, 1964 in Kewanee; his parents were Richard and Joyce M. Camp Holmes; he married Trudy Frisby on February 18, 1995 in Wyoming; and

WHEREAS, Michael Holmes was employed as a seasonal snowbird worker for the Illinois Department of Transportation and worked in the winter operations team since November of 2007; he was also a seasonal summer worker at Roanoke Concrete and Stahl Ready Mix; and

WHEREAS, Michael Holmes was a member of the Wyoming Masonic Lodge #479 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and the Fort Defiance Gun Range Club; and

WHEREAS, Michael Holmes enjoyed arrowhead hunting, camping, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Michael Holmes was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Michael Holmes is survived by his wife, Trudy; his mother; his daughters, Jessica (Philip) Seiwell and April (Brandon Sies) Hall; his grandson, Braxton Sies; his sister, Michelle Holmes; his mother-in-law, Pat Frisby; his nieces and nephews, Zach, Holly, Dustin, Cody, Tyler, Derrick, Jennifer, Heather, Courtney, and Kylee; his 5 great-nieces and great-nephews; his uncles, Steve Pettit and Phil Pettit; and his close family friend, Deanna Christian; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael C. Holmes; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Holmes as an expression of our sympathy.
