SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mark N. Valade of Joliet, who passed away on November 21, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Mark Valade was born on December 24, 1949 in Blue Island to Louis and Gouinevere (nee Davis) Valade; he was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School in 1968; he served with the United States Army in Vietnam from December 1968 to December 1969 with the First Marine Air Wing Da-Nang and with the 5th Marines at An-Hoa; he also served with the 7th Marines LZ-Baldy; and

WHEREAS, Mark Valade worked for Farmers Insurance for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Mark Valade was a life-member of the National Rifle Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Cantigny Post #367 in Joliet; he was also a member of the American Legion Marine Post #13 in Plainfield and the Marine Corps League; and

WHEREAS, Mark Valade was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tim; and his uncle, Majeur Davis; and

WHEREAS, Mark Valade is survived by his wife, Marcia; his brothers, Kevin (Margie) Valade, Bruce Valade, and Brian Valade; his stepdaughter, Jennifer (Joe) Trimble; his stepson, Justin (Samantha) Wirth; his grandchildren, Alister, Emily, and Cole Trimble; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; his best friends, Jim Restaino, Dan Murray, George Mushro, Jay Blessent, and Richard Jackson; and his canine companions, Star and Velvet; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mark N. Valade, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mark Valade as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
