SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Leona A. Bruckert of Bunker Hill, who passed away on October 9, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Leona Bruckert was born in Prairietown on February 19, 1913 to Henry and Emma (nee Helmkamp) Eden; she married Earl W. Bruckert in Prairietown on September 23, 1933; and

WHEREAS, Leona Bruckert was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and embroidering; and

WHEREAS, Leona Bruckert was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; daughter, Doris Davis; sister, Amanda in childhood; sisters, Mary, Hannah, Emma, Florence, and Verneda; brother, Ellie; and brother, Oscar in childhood; and

WHEREAS, Leona Bruckert is survived by her son, Ivan (Dorothy) Bruckert; grandchildren, Rick (Dana) Davis, Terry (Becky) Bruckert, Brian Bruckert, Denise (Lance) Baker, and Erin (Jody) Bruckert; great-grandchildren, Ricky (Hollie), Jefferson (Jessie), Alicia (Bob), Malissa (Walter), Tiffany, and Trevor; great-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ellie, Emmie, Ayden, Greyson, and Adrianna; step-great-grandchildren, Aaron (Jennifer) and Bailey (Kendall); and step-great-great-grandchildren, Nowell and Kenley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Leona A. Bruckert, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Leona Bruckert as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
