SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marvin Wayne Saville of Alton, who passed away on October 9, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Saville was born in Alton on December 23, 1945 to Harold and Glenn (nee Treadway) Saville; he married Ellen Hayes on July 3, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Saville retired in 2012 from Joseph E. Meyer & Associates in Edwardsville; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Saville was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; he played the organ at many area Catholic churches and community events; he enjoyed singing in the Riverbend Community Gospel Choir, and every Wednesday, he was part of a group that entertained others in the local nursing homes; he was on the board of directors at Alton Day Care and Learning Center; he was a past member of the Alton-Godfrey Jaycees, and he and his wife were team captains for the World Wide Marriage Encounter for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois; he was active with his grandchildren and found time to attend all of their activities; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Saville was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norman; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Saville is survived by his wife, Ellen; 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy Williamson, Amy and Bryan Stewart, and Rachel Watson; a sister, Lorna Duffrin; a sister-in-law, Laurita Saville; 10 grandchildren, James, Nicole, Valerie, Daemon, Joseph, Jakob, Dayton, Isaac, Skylar, and Christa; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marvin Wayne Saville, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marvin Saville as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
