SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marvin Wayne Saville of Alton, who passed
4away on October 9, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Saville was born in Alton on December 23,
61945 to Harold and Glenn (nee Treadway) Saville; he married
7Ellen Hayes on July 3, 1965; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Marvin Saville retired in 2012 from Joseph E.
9Meyer & Associates in Edwardsville; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Marvin Saville was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
11Church in Alton; he played the organ at many area Catholic
12churches and community events; he enjoyed singing in the
13Riverbend Community Gospel Choir, and every Wednesday, he was
14part of a group that entertained others in the local nursing
15homes; he was on the board of directors at Alton Day Care and
16Learning Center; he was a past member of the Alton-Godfrey
17Jaycees, and he and his wife were team captains for the World
18Wide Marriage Encounter for the Diocese of Springfield in
19Illinois; he was active with his grandchildren and found time
20to attend all of their activities; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Marvin Saville was preceded in death by his

1parents and a brother, Norman; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Marvin Saville is survived by his wife, Ellen; 3
3daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy Williamson, Amy and Bryan
4Stewart, and Rachel Watson; a sister, Lorna Duffrin; a
5sister-in-law, Laurita Saville; 10 grandchildren, James,
6Nicole, Valerie, Daemon, Joseph, Jakob, Dayton, Isaac, Skylar,
7and Christa; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews,
8and friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Marvin Wayne Saville, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Marvin Saville as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
