SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of LeRoy J. Schamper of Harvard, who passed away on June 22, 2014; and

WHEREAS, LeRoy Schamper was born on December 31, 1944 in Chicago; his parents were LeRoy C. and Elaine L. (nee Malcolm) Schamper; he married Frances L. Walter at the United Methodist Church in Mundelein; and

WHEREAS, LeRoy Schamper served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserve in the Chicagoland area; and

WHEREAS, LeRoy Schamper was employed as a machinist at Union Special; he was also a maintenance worker at Marengo High School; and

WHEREAS, LeRoy Schamper enjoyed collecting model trains and tending to his flowers and garden; and

WHEREAS, LeRoy Schamper was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, LeRoy Schamper is survived by his wife, Frances L. Schamper; 3 children, John M. (Kimberly) Schamper, Jaime L. (Amanda) Schamper, and Jodie D. (Heather) Schamper; 5 grandchildren, Amanda, Ashleigh, Elena, Levi, and Vaughn; and 4 siblings, Diane, Robert Shellenberger, Linda, and David Demel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of LeRoy J. Schamper; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of LeRoy Schamper as an expression of our sympathy.
