SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William E. "Bill" Young of Naperville, who passed away on June 4, 2014; and

WHEREAS, William Young was born on May 20, 1935; and

WHEREAS, William Young was an Illinois Hall of Fame wrestler, Naperville Central High School dean and wrestling coach, a Naperville Park District Commissioner, Chief of the Naperville Park Police, and acting Executive Director of the Park District; and

WHEREAS, William Young will be remembered for his endless contributions to the community and for inspiring Naperville teens and young adults to create a vision for their future, and instilling in them the confidence to be the best that they can be in the classroom, in athletics, and in life; and

WHEREAS, William Young is said to have 'Taken down hundreds, and lifted up thousands'; his greatest contribution was his ability to inspire individuals to find their way; he was affectionately know as "Coach Young", "Chief Young", "Wild Bill", and "William-1"; and

WHEREAS, William Young was the beloved husband of Martha Ferguson Young; the loving father of Laura, Dan (Kirsten), Barry, and the late Bob; the proud grandfather of Ryan, Allie, Faith, Stefan, Bill, and Jack; the cherished brother of Margaret Masters; and the fond uncle of Libby Gower, Marty Skog, and Dick Masters; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William E. "Bill" Young, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Young as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
