SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William E. "Bill" Young of Naperville,
4who passed away on June 4, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Young was born on May 20, 1935; and
 
6    WHEREAS, William Young was an Illinois Hall of Fame
7wrestler, Naperville Central High School dean and wrestling
8coach, a Naperville Park District Commissioner, Chief of the
9Naperville Park Police, and acting Executive Director of the
10Park District; and
 
11    WHEREAS, William Young will be remembered for his endless
12contributions to the community and for inspiring Naperville
13teens and young adults to create a vision for their future, and
14instilling in them the confidence to be the best that they can
15be in the classroom, in athletics, and in life; and
 
16    WHEREAS, William Young is said to have 'Taken down
17hundreds, and lifted up thousands'; his greatest contribution
18was his ability to inspire individuals to find their way; he
19was affectionately know as "Coach Young", "Chief Young", "Wild
20Bill", and "William-1"; and

1    WHEREAS, William Young was the beloved husband of Martha
2Ferguson Young; the loving father of Laura, Dan (Kirsten),
3Barry, and the late Bob; the proud grandfather of Ryan, Allie,
4Faith, Stefan, Bill, and Jack; the cherished brother of
5Margaret Masters; and the fond uncle of Libby Gower, Marty
6Skog, and Dick Masters; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9William E. "Bill" Young, and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of William Young as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
