SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bertha L. Hough, who passed away on April 22, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Bertha Hough was born on October 30, 1920 in Tofte, Minnesota; she was a resident of the Half Day-Prairie View area for most of her life; and

WHEREAS, Bertha Hough was a former member, deacon, and president of the Women's Fellowship at the Washburn Congregational Church in Half Day; she was also a member of the Vernon Township Seniors; and

WHEREAS, Bertha Hough was preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelm and Annie Lemm; her husband, Benjamin F. Hough, Sr.; and 8 brothers and sisters; and

WHEREAS, Bertha Hough is survived by 4 children, Nancy Foote (Stan Stubblefield), Benjamin Hough, Jr. (Lorene Blake), Pamela (Louis) Akins, and Richard Hough; 8 grandchildren, Joan, Julie, William, Shannon, Krista, Christine, Carol, and Matthew; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Marian Prouty and Anna Mae Heinsohn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Bertha L. Hough; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bertha Hough as an expression of our sympathy.
