SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dennis Michael Magee, who passed away on December 13, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Magee served with the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War; he served two tours and was awarded the Bronze Star; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Magee served as a trustee for the Village of Merrionette Park for many years and then as mayor for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Magee built dugouts for Little League Baseball in Merrionette Park and for Moraine Valley; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Magee was the beloved father of Jennifer Bednarczyk; the loving grandfather of Nicholas, Joseph, Madison, and Gracie Wardingley; the dear brother of Terry (Greg) Jaspers and Tim (Lynn) Magee; the cherished son of the late Edward and Anne (McNamara) Magee; and the loyal friend to many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dennis Michael Magee and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dennis Magee as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
