HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Lincoln Community
4High School (LCHS) girls basketball team, the Lady Railers, on
5winning the 2023-2024 Illinois High School Association (IHSA)
6Class 3A State Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The LCHS girls basketball team set several IHSA
8tournament records during the 2023-2024 season, including
9scoring the most points in a quarter tournament at 26 points
10during the first quarter, the most points in a quarter title
11game at 26 points during the first quarter, and the highest
12field goal percentage title game at 21/36; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The LCHS girls basketball team also set several
14team records throughout the 2023-2024 season, such as making
15the most 3-pointers in a single game at a tied score of 14, the
16most consecutive wins in a season at 38, and the most wins in a
17season at 38; and
 
18    WHEREAS, The LCHS girls basketball team had a highly
19successful 2023-2024 season overall, being named champions of
20The Morton Thanksgiving Tournament, The Peoria Holiday
21Tournament, The Central State 8, Regionals, Sectionals, and
22Super-Sectionals; and

1    WHEREAS, The LCHS girls basketball team includes players
2Ceana Adams, Jenna Bowman, Mia Clark, Kloe Froebe, Tori
3Geriets, Grey Gilbert, Becca Heitzig, Lily Holmes, Emma
4Hutchison, Makinley Knapp, Mesa McCloud, Jocelyn Perkins,
5Grace Schneider, Taryn Stoltzenburg, and Piper Whiteman; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The LCHS girls basketball team is managed by
7students Myah Bowman, Ryan Fruge, Destinee Harper, and Tamari
8Pressoir; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The LCHS girls basketball team is led by Head
10Coach Taylor Rohrer and Assistant Coaches Cory Farmer and
11Grace Bossingham; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we congratulate the Lincoln Community High School (LCHS) girls
15basketball team, the Lady Railers, on winning the 2023-2024
16Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 3A State
17Championship, and we wish them many more successful seasons;
18and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
20presented to the members, student managers, and coaches of the
21LCHS girls basketball team as an expression of our respect and
