SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Reuben A. Segebarth of Waukegan, who passed away on August 13, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Reuben Segebarth was born on August 4, 1928 in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; he was a resident of Waukegan for 63 years; and

WHEREAS, Reuben Segebarth graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee (formerly, Wisconsin State Teachers College-Milwaukee) and received his Master's Degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago; he was a member of the Delta Chi Sigma Honorary National Science Society; and

WHEREAS, Reuben Segebarth was a retired 6th grade teacher from Waukegan School District 60, where he had taught at Jackson and Clearview Schools; and

WHEREAS, Reuben Segebarth was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ; he was also an avid stamp collector and a member of the Lake County Philatelic Society; and

WHEREAS, Reuben Segebarth was preceded in death by his son, Roger A. Segebarth; his parents, John Henry and Teresa (nee Klatt) Segebarth, Jr.; his 2 brothers; and his sister; and

WHEREAS, Reuben Segebarth is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joanne M. (nee Carlson) Segebarth; his daughter, Teri Lu (Masato) Chinen; his grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Chinen; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Reuben A. Segebarth; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Reuben Segebarth as an expression of our sympathy.
