SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gerald "Jerry" A. Draffkorn, Sr. of Wonder Lake, who passed away on July 2, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Draffkorn, Sr. was born on January 2, 1939, in Chicago, to Frank and Marian Quall Draffkorn; he married Susan Sullivan on August 8, 1982, in Wonder Lake; he served in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Draffkorn, Sr. worked as a well driller for Joseph H. Huemann & Sons of Ringwood, retiring 3 years ago; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Draffkorn, Sr. was a member of The Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Draffkorn, Sr. was preceded in death by his sister, Marianne Cristy and his brother, Donald Draffkorn; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Draffkorn, Sr. is survived by his wife; his daughters, Jennifer (Patrick) Etherington and Jill Draffkorn; his sons, Jerry (Natalie) Draffkorn, Jr., Jeff (Mary) Draffkorn, and Jim Draffkorn; his brothers, Frank (Ellen) Draffkorn and Tom (Janice) Draffkorn; and his grandchildren, Trey, Jonelle, Katie, Matthew, and Jonathon Draffkorn and Nathan, Emily, and Logan Etherington; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gerald A. Draffkorn, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gerald Draffkorn, Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
