SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Milton C. "Milt" Jensen of Beach Park. Mr. Jensen was the mayor of Beach Park, serving his fourth term; he passed away on March 31, 2012; and

WHEREAS, He was born in Waupaca, Wisconsin; he flew his first airplane, a Piper Cub, when he was 16 years old; and

WHEREAS, He was a 37-year veteran of United Airlines and was active in the Retired United Pilots' Association, the Zion Benton American Legion Post #865, and the Zion Benton Loyal Order of the Moose; and

WHEREAS, He served as mayor of Zion, in the 1970s, and was in his fourth term as the mayor of Beach Park; and

WHEREAS, Along with flying and his public service, he had numerous hobbies, most of which were related to computers; the majority of his focus was on his large and devoted family; and

WHEREAS, Milton Jensen was married to the love of his life, Ina (nee Lyons), for almost 61 years; he is also survived by his children, Don (Sue), Glenn (Cynthia), Rich (Cindy), Phil (Sandy), Julie Gonka (Dennis), Liane Leicht (Frankie Kaiser), and Connie Gill (Paul); his 20 grandchildren; and his 12 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family, friends, and the people of Beach Park, the passing of Mayor Milton Jensen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Milton Jensen as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
