SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Milton C. "Milt" Jensen of Beach Park.
4Mr. Jensen was the mayor of Beach Park, serving his fourth
5term; he passed away on March 31, 2012; and
 
6    WHEREAS, He was born in Waupaca, Wisconsin; he flew his
7first airplane, a Piper Cub, when he was 16 years old; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He was a 37-year veteran of United Airlines and
9was active in the Retired United Pilots' Association, the Zion
10Benton American Legion Post #865, and the Zion Benton Loyal
11Order of the Moose; and
 
12    WHEREAS, He served as mayor of Zion, in the 1970s, and was
13in his fourth term as the mayor of Beach Park; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Along with flying and his public service, he had
15numerous hobbies, most of which were related to computers; the
16majority of his focus was on his large and devoted family; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Milton Jensen was married to the love of his life,
18Ina (nee Lyons), for almost 61 years; he is also survived by
19his children, Don (Sue), Glenn (Cynthia), Rich (Cindy), Phil
20(Sandy), Julie Gonka (Dennis), Liane Leicht (Frankie Kaiser),

1and Connie Gill (Paul); his 20 grandchildren; and his 12
2great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5his family, friends, and the people of Beach Park, the passing
6of Mayor Milton Jensen; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Milton Jensen as a symbol of our
9sincere sympathy.
