SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jean A. Carney, formerly of Aurora, who passed away on February 25, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Jean Carney was born on December 3, 1933; she was the daughter of the late Ernst and Bertha (Walther) Stirn; and

WHEREAS, Jean Carney was a charter member and first employee of the 1st American Bank of Aurora and worked as a banker for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Jean Carney was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John W. Carney; her cousin, William Stirn; and her brothers-in-law, Eugene Carney and Robert Carney; and

WHEREAS, Jean Carney is survived by her children, Mike (Kathy) Carney and Karen (Joe) Richmond; her siblings, Gert (Dick) Hills, Marge (Frank) Vermaat, Richard (Claudine) Stirn, and Kenneth Stirn; her cousins, Helen (Chris) Lockard and Carla (Tom) Teter; her sisters-in-law, Gloria Carney and Merle Curry; and her many loving nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Jean A. Carney; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jean Carney as an expression of our sympathy.
