SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lotteo Sam Balaco of Alton, who passed away on September 30, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born November 1, 1926, in Alton, and was the son of the late Sam and Blanche (Steele) Balaco; and

WHEREAS, He owned and operated the Bon Air for 40 years and later owned and operated Lotteo's Restaurant in Alton; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Lotteo Balaco is surived by his daughter, Rosemary Stahlschmidt and her husband, Chris; his sons, Sam Balaco (Charlene), John Balaco (Renee), David Balaco (Valerie), Robert Balaco (Debbie), and Michael Balaco; his grandchildren, Stacy Dixon (Corey), Katie Balaco, Jennifer Balaco, Kelly Reeder (Brandon), Amy, Jason, and Marie Stahlschmidt, Michele McCoy (Ryan), and Brandon and Lindsey Balaco; his great-grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Matthew, Abbey, Avery, Piper, and Link; and his sisters; Christina Gennaro, JoVenna Price, and Amanda Borkowicz; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Lotteo Balaco; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lotteo Balaco as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
