SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert J. "Bob" Maluska, Sr. formerly of North Chicago, who passed away on June 10, 2011; and

WHEREAS, He was born January 15, 1948 to the late Edward P. Maluska, Sr. and Victoria (Kasper) Maluska; he was always a hard working man and he made sure his family was taken care of; he was a firefighter for the North Chicago Fire Department and then followed his entrepreneurial dream of opening his own business, Maluska's Lanes Bowling Alley; and

WHEREAS, He worked for the Illinois State Tollway for many years; in his free time his hobbies included body and fender, auto mechanics, painting cars, "Scoopin the Loop" in his 1966 Cadillac, fishing, playing golf, listening to Elvis, traveling, a good cup of coffee, and most of all playing Cribbage; and

WHEREAS, He was happily married to Chyrel E. Maluska; he was the loving father of 5 children, Darlene (Rick) Contino, Robert J. (Trisha) Jr., Lori Maluska-Staben, Christine (Stefan) Maluska-Rachev, and Chyrel L. (Raul) Rivera; he was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren that he adored, Lori, Allie, Christy, Ashlin, Katiana, Noel, Nadia, Nikolas, Stefan Jr., Giana, Nina, Dominic, Mary, and Esteban; he also held a special place in his heart for his eldest granddaughter, Lori Danielle, for all the care and compassion she provided; he is also survived by his sister, Lorraine Glasscock; and his brother, Edward P. (Dolly) Maluska Jr.; as well as many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Robert J. "Bob" Maluska, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert J. "Bob" Maluska, Sr. as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
