HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rhoda Blanchard, who passed away on December 2, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard was born on January 7, 1947; her parents were Willie and Ethel Louden; and

WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard graduated from Hyde Park Academy High School; and

WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard was employed with the United States Postal Service for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church New Rose of Sharon Morning Star Club, Feed the People, the Missionary Department, and the D.Z. Jackson Chorus; and

WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard enjoyed bowling and cooking for her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William; and her grandson, Charles; and

WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard is survived by her husband, Willard Blanchard; her son, Willard Blanchard Jr.; her daughters, Sharron (Gregory) Anderson, Sonja (Robert) Denton, Sharon (Rome) Darring, and LaDonna Harston; her grandchildren, Xandra, Simone, Genesis, Jade, Destiny, and Robert; her great-grandchild, Austin; her brothers, Clarence (Sandra) Thomas and Dwight Phillips; her sisters-in-law, Janice Dumar, Barbara Whitman, Mildred Hunter-Davis, and Gwendolyn Harris; and her many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Rhoda Blanchard; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rhoda Blanchard as an expression of our sympathy.
