HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rhoda
4Blanchard, who passed away on December 2, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard was born on January 7, 1947; her
6parents were Willie and Ethel Louden; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard graduated from Hyde Park Academy
8High School; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard was employed with the United
10States Postal Service for over 30 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard was a member of the Liberty
12Baptist Church New Rose of Sharon Morning Star Club, Feed the
13People, the Missionary Department, and the D.Z. Jackson Chorus;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard enjoyed bowling and cooking for
16her family and friends; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard was preceded in death by her
18parents; her brother, William; and her grandson, Charles; and

1    WHEREAS, Rhoda Blanchard is survived by her husband,
2Willard Blanchard; her son, Willard Blanchard Jr.; her
3daughters, Sharron (Gregory) Anderson, Sonja (Robert) Denton,
4Sharon (Rome) Darring, and LaDonna Harston; her grandchildren,
5Xandra, Simone, Genesis, Jade, Destiny, and Robert; her
6great-grandchild, Austin; her brothers, Clarence (Sandra)
7Thomas and Dwight Phillips; her sisters-in-law, Janice Dumar,
8Barbara Whitman, Mildred Hunter-Davis, and Gwendolyn Harris;
9and her many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
13Rhoda Blanchard; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Rhoda Blanchard as an expression of
16our sympathy.
