SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Tara Emerson Beeney of Pekin, who passed away on June 4, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Tara Beeney was born on April 6, 1969 in Sterling; her parents were Lonnie and Barbara (Potts) Emerson; she married Ron Beeney on September 19, 1994, in Eureka; and

WHEREAS, Tara Beeney graduated from Western Illinois University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in law enforcement; she was also a varsity cheerleader at Western Illinois University; after graduation, she began an 18-year career with the East Peoria Police Department as a patrol officer until leaving due to her illness; and

WHEREAS, Tara Beeney was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church in Pekin; and

WHEREAS, Tara Beeney was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ernest and Mildred Emerson, and her maternal grandfather, Kenneth Potts; and

WHEREAS, Tara Beeney is survived by her father, Lonnie (Joan) Emerson; her mother, Barbara Emerson; her daughter, Liberty L. Rhoades; Liberty's half-sister, Bailey Rhoades; her maternal grandmother, Audrey Potts; Ron Beeney; her mother-in-law, Flavia Rhoades; her mother and father-in-law, Judy (Marion) Beeney; Liberty's father, Ronnie Rhoades; and her stepbrothers, Mark (Kimberly) Leman and Jack Leman; and

WHEREAS, Tara Beeney will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved her for her warm heart and the way that she touched everyone's life; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Tara Emerson Beeney; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tara Beeney as an expression of our sympathy.
