SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Tara Emerson Beeney of Pekin, who passed
4away on June 4, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tara Beeney was born on April 6, 1969 in Sterling;
6her parents were Lonnie and Barbara (Potts) Emerson; she
7married Ron Beeney on September 19, 1994, in Eureka; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Tara Beeney graduated from Western Illinois
9University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in law enforcement;
10she was also a varsity cheerleader at Western Illinois
11University; after graduation, she began an 18-year career with
12the East Peoria Police Department as a patrol officer until
13leaving due to her illness; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Tara Beeney was a member of the New Life
15Fellowship Church in Pekin; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Tara Beeney was preceded in death by her paternal
17grandparents, Ernest and Mildred Emerson, and her maternal
18grandfather, Kenneth Potts; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Tara Beeney is survived by her father, Lonnie
20(Joan) Emerson; her mother, Barbara Emerson; her daughter,

1Liberty L. Rhoades; Liberty's half-sister, Bailey Rhoades; her
2maternal grandmother, Audrey Potts; Ron Beeney; her
3mother-in-law, Flavia Rhoades; her mother and father-in-law,
4Judy (Marion) Beeney; Liberty's father, Ronnie Rhoades; and her
5stepbrothers, Mark (Kimberly) Leman and Jack Leman; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Tara Beeney will be remembered fondly by all who
7knew and loved her for her warm heart and the way that she
8touched everyone's life; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Tara Emerson Beeney; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Tara Beeney as an expression of our
15sympathy.
