SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jack H. Querciagrossa, who passed away on January 17, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa was born on February 24, 1925 in Oglesby; his parents were Dominic and Mary (Barattini) Querciagrossa; he married Susan Hauptman on January 19, 1947 at St. Roch's Church in La Salle; she passed away on December 8, 1990; he married Della Kaiser-Cain on May 1, 1992 at the Holy Family Church in Oglesby; and

WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa served his country with pride and distinction with the Army Medical Corps in the Philippines during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa worked at the Marquette Cement Company and later served as site superintendent for the Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks; and

WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa was a member of the Holy Family Church and the Holy Name Society and was a past member of the Police Chiefs Association; he also served as a Democratic precinct committeeman and vice chairman of the La Salle County Democrats; and

WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa is survived by his wife, Della; his son, Jay Querciagrossa; his stepsons, Keith (Julia) Cain and Danny (Kathy) Cain; his daughters, Mary Jo (Patrick) Barry and Susan Kaye (James) Knoblauch; and his five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jack H. Querciagrossa; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Querciagrossa as an expression of our sympathy.
