SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Jack H. Querciagrossa, who passed away on
4 January 17, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa was born on February 24, 1925
6 in Oglesby; his parents were Dominic and Mary (Barattini)
7 Querciagrossa; he married Susan Hauptman on January 19, 1947 at
8 St. Roch's Church in La Salle; she passed away on December 8,
9 1990; he married Della Kaiser-Cain on May 1, 1992 at the Holy
10 Family Church in Oglesby; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa served his country with pride
12 and distinction with the Army Medical Corps in the Philippines
13 during World War II; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa worked at the Marquette Cement
15 Company and later served as site superintendent for the Starved
16 Rock and Matthiessen State Parks; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa was a member of the Holy Family
18 Church and the Holy Name Society and was a past member of the
19 Police Chiefs Association; he also served as a Democratic
20 precinct committeeman and vice chairman of the La Salle County
21 Democrats; and

1     WHEREAS, Jack Querciagrossa is survived by his wife, Della;
2 his son, Jay Querciagrossa; his stepsons, Keith (Julia) Cain
3 and Danny (Kathy) Cain; his daughters, Mary Jo (Patrick) Barry
4 and Susan Kaye (James) Knoblauch; and his five grandchildren,
5 five step-grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren;
6 therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9 his family and friends, the passing of Jack H. Querciagrossa;
10 and be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to the family of Jack Querciagrossa as an expression
13 of our sympathy.
