SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Curtis L. "Curt" Linne of Naperville; and

WHEREAS, He was born July 26, 1929 in Danville; he grew up in Danville, was a graduate of Danville High School, and attended two years at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army's 101st 90mm Anti-Aircraft Gun Battalion during the Korean Campaign; and

WHEREAS, He had a 42-year career in the cast metal industry, working with General Motors Cast Metal Division in Danville, the Chicago Foundry in Chicago, The Budd Company in Detroit, Michigan, and retiring in 1994 after 22 years of service with the Lester B. Knight Company in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Naperville and was a 50-year member of the Illinois Masonic Lodge; he enjoyed gardening and was known as a talented handyman; and

WHEREAS, Curtis Linne was the beloved husband of Charline (nee Thomas) Linne, whom he married December 31, 1950; the loving father of Dr. Michael (Madeleine) Weldon-Linne, Marc (Kate) Linne, Dave (Anne) Linne, and Sue (Tory) Hannan; the adored grandfather of Leksi Weldon-Linne, Mariel (Robert) Reeves, and Alyssa Weldon-Linne; Emily, Jake and Drew Linne; Alex, Nick, and Kevin Linne; Jack and Andie Hannan; the devoted son of the late Albert and Lorena Linne; the dear brother of Walt (Mary Lou) Linne, Lou Ann (John) Geis, Beverly Chantos, and the late Alfred (Nancy) Linne; and fond uncle of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Curtis Linne; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Curtis Linne as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
