SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Curtis L. "Curt" Linne of Naperville; and
 
4    WHEREAS, He was born July 26, 1929 in Danville; he grew up
5in Danville, was a graduate of Danville High School, and
6attended two years at Purdue University in West Lafayette,
7Indiana; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army's 101st 90mm
9Anti-Aircraft Gun Battalion during the Korean Campaign; and
 
10    WHEREAS, He had a 42-year career in the cast metal
11industry, working with General Motors Cast Metal Division in
12Danville, the Chicago Foundry in Chicago, The Budd Company in
13Detroit, Michigan, and retiring in 1994 after 22 years of
14service with the Lester B. Knight Company in Chicago; and
 
15    WHEREAS, He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church
16in Naperville and was a 50-year member of the Illinois Masonic
17Lodge; he enjoyed gardening and was known as a talented
18handyman; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Curtis Linne was the beloved husband of Charline
20(nee Thomas) Linne, whom he married December 31, 1950; the

1loving father of Dr. Michael (Madeleine) Weldon-Linne, Marc
2(Kate) Linne, Dave (Anne) Linne, and Sue (Tory) Hannan; the
3adored grandfather of Leksi Weldon-Linne, Mariel (Robert)
4Reeves, and Alyssa Weldon-Linne; Emily, Jake and Drew Linne;
5Alex, Nick, and Kevin Linne; Jack and Andie Hannan; the devoted
6son of the late Albert and Lorena Linne; the dear brother of
7Walt (Mary Lou) Linne, Lou Ann (John) Geis, Beverly Chantos,
8and the late Alfred (Nancy) Linne; and fond uncle of many;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Curtis Linne; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Curtis Linne as a symbol of our
16sincere sympathy.
