HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Windy City Warriors on achieving second place at the National Championship Games and for winning first place at the Illinois High School Association Wheelchair Basketball State Championships; and

WHEREAS, The Windy City Warriors are a youth wheelchair basketball team sponsored by the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA); WDSRA provides recreation for people with physical disabilities from the grass roots level to the elite athletes preparing for college and the Paralympics; and

WHEREAS, They recently won the Illinois High School Association Wheelchair Basketball State Title for the fourth time as they swept the tournament, held March 13-14, 2009, in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, On March 18, 2009, the team members were flown to Denver to compete in the National Championships where they finished second; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Warriors are: Alyssa Gialmas, Amy Chapman, Blake Harmet, Randi Reingardt, Justin Harrison, Matt Molenkamp, Chris Murphy, Jonathan Ruiz, Joel Adams, Nick Umek, Douglas Davison, Erik Todd, Michael Haut, Kyle Gribble, Dannie Ocasio, and Ryan Jaguan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Windy City Warriors for their outstanding success and wish them the best in their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Windy City Warriors as a symbol of our respect.
