HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Michelle Bednarz on receiving the annual "Charles E. Piper Award" for business and community achievement from the Berwyn Development Corporation during the 25th Annual "Charles E. Piper Award" Dinner on November 6, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Michelle Bednarz is the Assistant Vice President and Public Relations Officer for Central Federal Savings and Loan and was recently named the Branch Manager for the new location in LaGrange Park; and

WHEREAS, Shortly after beginning her career with Central Federal, Michelle joined the Cermak Road Business Association in 1976; she then became a member of the Cicero Chamber of Commerce and Industry where she was elected to the Board of Directors and also served as treasurer, vice-president, and president; and

WHEREAS, She joined the Berwyn Development Corporation in the early 1980s and became a member of the Marketing Committee, helping to plan a community guide in conjunction with the City of Berwyn; she was later elected to the Board of Directors and served as secretary of the Executive Board; and

WHEREAS, She was appointed chair of the Piper Award Dinner Committee and brought the idea of having themes for the annual dinner; in addition, she serves on the Chamber Services and Ogden/Depot TIF committees; and

WHEREAS, She also works with the Community Chest of Cicero, the Rotary Club, and Berwyn/Cicero Vietnow; she chaired the Relay for Life survivor dinner from 2004 to 2008; and she was recently asked to participate in the Morton College Business/Accounting Advisory Committee; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Michelle Bednarz and wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Michelle Bednarz as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
