SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Eleanor Berger of Godfrey, who passed away on January 11, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Eleanor Berger was born on January 13, 1927; her parents were Philip and Nina (Drum) Zoeller; she married Walson H. "Wally" Berger on July 8, 1950; together they owned Wally Berger Buick, Inc. in Alton for many years; he preceded her in death on May 26, 1998; and

WHEREAS, Eleanor Berger was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; she was a faithful volunteer at the former Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Anthony's Health Center, where she volunteered more than 7,000 hours; and she was the most recent past president of the hospital auxiliary; and

WHEREAS, Eleanor Berger is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Berger; her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Mary Berger; her grandsons, Phillip Berger Jr. and Patrick Berger; and her extended family and many dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Eleanor Berger; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eleanor Berger as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
