SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express
3 their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Eleanor
4 Berger of Godfrey, who passed away on January 11, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Eleanor Berger was born on January 13, 1927; her
6 parents were Philip and Nina (Drum) Zoeller; she married Walson
7 H. "Wally" Berger on July 8, 1950; together they owned Wally
8 Berger Buick, Inc. in Alton for many years; he preceded her in
9 death on May 26, 1998; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Eleanor Berger was a longtime member of St. Mary's
11 Catholic Church in Alton; she was a faithful volunteer at the
12 former Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Anthony's Health Center,
13 where she volunteered more than 7,000 hours; and she was the
14 most recent past president of the hospital auxiliary; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Eleanor Berger is survived by her daughter,
16 Elizabeth "Beth" Berger; her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip
17 and Mary Berger; her grandsons, Phillip Berger Jr. and Patrick
18 Berger; and her extended family and many dear friends;
19 therefore, be it
 
20     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
21 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with

1 her family and friends, the passing of Eleanor Berger; and be
2 it further
 
3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to the family of Eleanor Berger as a symbol of our
5 sincere sympathy.
