SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

305 ILCS 5/5-26 new

Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the minimum monthly personal needs allowance for a person who is an inpatient in an institution or facility for which payments are made under the Medical Assistance Article throughout a month, and who is determined to be eligible for medical assistance under that Article, is $90. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning public aid.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by adding Section 5-26 as follows:

(305 ILCS 5/5-26 new)

Sec. 5-26. Personal needs allowance. The minimum monthly personal needs allowance, as authorized under Section 1902(q) of Title XIX of the Social Security Act, for a person who is an inpatient in an institution or facility for which payments are made under this Article throughout a month, and who is determined to be eligible for medical assistance under this Article, is $90.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
