SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Harriet C. Trotter of Aurora on Sunday, May 23, 2004; and

WHEREAS, She was born on December 11, 1915, in Chicago to Ralph and Edith Coughenour; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Trotter was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Aurora; she attended the University of Illinois where she was an active member of the Kappa Gamma Sorority; she was also an avid bridge player; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Harriet C. Trotter has been deeply felt by many, especially her children, Mary T. Richert, C. Thomas Trotter, and Julie Jakowski; her nine grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin T. Trotter in 1987; and her brothers, Kenneth and Ralph Coughenour; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Harriet C. Trotter, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
