SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Danny Richard Carlson, who passed away on December 3, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Danny Carlson was the son of Andrew Richard and Una Pearl (Waters) Carlson and was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 11, 1945; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam; he married Debbie S. Wood in Peoria on April 30, 1977; and

WHEREAS, Danny Carlson worked as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 31 years of service; he also worked as a semi-truck driver at Meinen Field in Peoria and at the voting polls during elections in Canton; and

WHEREAS, Danny Carlson was a member of the Peoria Heights Navy Marine Club and a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Devil Dogs; and

WHEREAS, Danny enjoyed fishing, bowling, making jerky, playing darts and spending time at the Navy Marine Club, and being with his family; and

WHEREAS, Danny Carlson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his birth mother, Betty Peck; his sisters, Patty and Connie; and his brother, Paul Carlson; and

WHEREAS, Danny Carlson is survived by his children, Juanita Ashwood and William "Andy" (Miranda) Carlson; his grandchildren, Eliessia, Brandon, Alyssa, and Chase; his brother, Mike; and his sisters, Bonnie and Doris; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Danny Richard Carlson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Danny Carlson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
