SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert Norman "Bob" Hetz, who passed
4away on August 26, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Hetz was born to Phillip and Kathryn Hetz in
6Cordova on July 5, 1928; he graduated from Cordova High
7School; he married Marjorie Nolan in Cordova on August 2,
81952; he served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1955; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Hetz worked as a farmer in Cordova and Port
10Byron; he retired at the age of 65; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bob Hetz was a member of the Cordova Baptist
12Church; he volunteered at the Port Byron American Legion's
13booth; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bob Hetz enjoyed traveling to Wisconsin,
15California, South Carolina, Florida, and other places to visit
16his children, extended family, and friends; he also enjoyed
17spending time with his friends, dancing, and visiting casinos;
18above all, he loved being at home, playing cards, and spending
19time with his family; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bob Hetz will be remembered for his infectious

1smile, cheerful disposition, thoughtfulness, and humor; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Bob Hetz was preceded in death by his wife; his
3parents; his brother, George; his sister, Betty Horn; and his
4infant sister, Grace; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Hetz is survived by his children, JoDee
6(Jerry) Lawrence, Tina (Roger) Hillestad, Dr. Rob (Jean) Hetz,
7and Roger (Kari) Hetz; 12 grandchildren; 24
8great-grandchildren; his companion, Ardyth Nolan; his cousin,
9Shirley Script; and his friends, Aime VanDriessche, Yvette
10VanDriessche, Dan Talerico, and Mari Talerico; therefore, be
11it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Robert Norman "Bob" Hetz and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Bob Hetz as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
