SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3congratulate Tim Wynes, J.D., on the occasion of his
4retirement as president of Black Hawk College; and
 
5    WHEREAS, President Wynes recently concluded his 21st year
6as a college president, a journey that included posts in Iowa
7and Minnesota; and
 
8    WHEREAS, President Wynes graduated from Cornell College
9and St. Louis University School of Law; and
 
10    WHEREAS, President Wynes previously served as a prosecutor
11and associate professor of clinical law at the University of
12Missouri, and he spent three years as legal director for
13former Governor Mel Carnahan of Missouri, where he learned
14about community colleges; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Under President Wynes' leadership, Black Hawk
16College has experienced significant growth and prosperity; and
 
17    WHEREAS, President Wynes has been instrumental in
18increasing enrollment, expanding programs and facilities, and
19improving relations with the community; and

1    WHEREAS, Through President Wynes's guidance, Black Hawk
2College has become one of the leading institutions of higher
3learning in the region; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Over the course of his professional career,
5President Wynes has been aided by the support of his wife,
6Becky, and their two children; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Tim
9Wynes, J.D., on his retirement as president of Black Hawk
10College, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors; and
11be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to President Wynes as an expression of our esteem
14and respect.
