SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Hazel (Boesdorfer) Golden of
4Petersburg, who passed away on April 18, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Hazel Golden was born to William J. Boesdorfer
6and Mary Schmidt on November 7, 1926; she was raised in
7Salisbury and was a member of the Farmingdale/Pleasant Plains
8Lutheran Church; she graduated from Pleasant Plains High
9School in 1944; she married Edward Golden on October 29, 1960,
10and they raised three children; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Hazel Golden lived a full life of service to her
12community, church, and family; she was a member of the Beta
13Sigma Phi Sorority for over 70 years, socialized with the
14Rural Youth/3rd Saturday Night Group for over 60 years, and
15served as leader of the Rock Creek 4-H Club for over 30 years;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Hazel Golden was an active member of the Rock
18Creek Presbyterian Church for 63 years, participating in the
19annual chicken supper and church bazaar; she was also
20instrumental in raising funds for the church expansion; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Hazel Golden is survived by her husband of 62

1years, Edward; her children, Eric (Deedee), Vincent, and
2Marjorie; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and
3two great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Hazel (Boesdorfer) Golden and extend our sincere condolences
7to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Hazel Golden as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
