SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Duane Russell Bradley; and

WHEREAS, Duane Bradley worked for both Argonne National Laboratory and the International Atomic Energy Agency for nearly 30 years, including six years spent in Vienna, Austria; and

WHEREAS, Duane Bradley was an officer with the Lemont Emergency Management Agency for over nine years, where he helped with major local events and emergency response to accidents, fires, severe weather, and other incidents; and

WHEREAS, Duane Bradley was a longtime committeeman in the local Republican organization; he was involved with the Downers Grove Community Church and was an active member at the former First Presbyterian Church of Downers Grove; he volunteered his time at community food pantries and with the DuPage County Sheriff's Volunteer Patrol; and

WHEREAS, Duane Bradley's children and grandchildren were always a priority, whether by serving on the school board, coaching soccer, or assisting and attending his kids' activities, such as band camps, concerts, sports, and church events; and

WHEREAS, Duane Bradley enjoyed square dancing and held many offices and committee positions to benefit the square dance community; and

WHEREAS, Duane Bradley was the loving husband of over 55 years of his wife, June; the beloved father of Robert Bradley, Katharina (John) Harden, and David (Melissa) Bradley; the cherished grandfather of Ruth and Nathanial Harden and Jalaina, Michael, Jaila, Jay, Lillian, and David Jr. Bradley; the fond brother of the late Douglas Bradley; and uncle to Dustin Bradley, who he raised as his own after the passing of his brother; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Duane Russell Bradley and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Duane Bradley as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
